Betty Louise Herman
March 8, 1929 – December 26, 2020
Betty Louise (Thickstun) Herman, 91, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. She was born March 8, 1929 in Bloomington, IN the daughter of the late Garnet and Alma Thickstun.
Betty graduated from Bloomington High School in 1946 and attended Greenville College. She was a member of the Bloomington Free Methodist Church for over 75 years. She served her church singing in the choir and she sang beautifully.
Betty served with distinction as an administrative assistant for the Dean of I.U. School of Business and for the owner of Louisville Mortgage Company. She was the previous owner of The Quilters Patch where Betty taught many classes and made beautiful handmade and hand quilted quilts. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Lambert L. Herman; stepdaughter, Gwen Hamel and her husband Brent; sister, Bonnie J. Baker and her husband Robert; brother, Kenneth H. Thickstun and his wife Melinda; nephews, Thomas R. Thickstun and his wife Maryanne and Travis R. Thickstun and his wife Betsie; and nieces, Carole Thickstun and Jennie McClendon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Thickstun and Ted L. Thickstun; and a nephew, Fred R. Thickstun.
The family will hold memorial services for Betty at a later date.
