Danny Ray Nelson

Danny Ray Nelson, 63, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021. A native of South Boston, Virginia Danny resided most of his life in the Tidewater area. He was a Navy Veteran and retired after 37 years of service from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Survivors include his loving wife Sharon Marie Nelson; a son Joshua Ray Nelson and wife Jennifer, a daughter Ashley Danielle Hillian and husband Jason; 5 grandchildren, Kelly and Jacob Nelson, Evan LaBella, Jaydn and Elinor Hillian; three sisters Connie Stocks, Bonnie Lambert and Veronica Ogeen. His wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be private and the services will be Livestreamed via Facebook, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norfolk Zoo.
