Janette Davis James

Mrs. Janette James gracefully ascended from her earthly home to her eternal kingdom on September 25, 2017. Janette was born March 1, 1939 and was the oldest daughter of Robert and Irene Covington. She was the apple of her daddy’s eye. She was the widow of her beloved husband, Paul James. She was preceded in death by her sons Dennis and Donald James. She is survived by her loving daughters, Bonnie Zerbe (Scott) and Carolyn James (Ray), whom she resided with and son, Richard James, whom she was visiting with at the time of her passing. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson (Marvin), Ray Pavey, Jr. (Jen), Bradley James, and Corey James as well as two great grandchildren, Christian and Mia and one very special great granddaughter, Shannon Pavey, who was also her constant companion. Janette was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Janette will be laid to rest Friday, September 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorials Gardens. Family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. at Mullins and Thompson on Route 1. The Reverend Tony Self will be officiating. The family invites everyone to Spotsylvania Baptist Church immediately following the services for a home going meal. Fly high pretty lady (affectionately know as Dorothy). We know you are rejoicing with your beloved sister, Phyllis (affectionately known as Rose). Your surviving sister Rose (affectionately known as Blanche) will miss your daily calls. You will be missed forever.
