Obituary of Ruth Fox Spicer
Ruth Fox Spicer, 82, of Spotsylvania VA departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2020. Surrounded by her loving family. She is celebrating in heaven with Jesus. Born August 1, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Winston and Lillie Smith of Narrows Virginia. She attended Narrows High School and graduated in1958. Ruth was an avid gardener, loved to read, loved crafting and spent many hours preparing family dinners for all of her children and grandchildren. She loved being with her family. She was also a devoted christian and celebrated her faith by faithfully attending the Church of God of Prophecy for more than 40 years. But the greatest attestant to her faith was the love and acceptance she showed to everyone she met. She wasn’t afraid to share her faith. She would tell you that she was going to heaven and wanted to make sure that all her family and friends would one day see her there. Ruth was a devoted and loving wife to Elmer Spicer for more than 62 years. She was also the loving mother and best friend to her daughters Sharon Martin and Lisa Richardson. A loving mother-in-law to Kevin Martin and David Richardson and a much loved grandmother to her grandchildren Ryan and Meg, Kyle and Joy, Erik and Jenny, Evan and Nikki, Hunter and Heather. Alex and Stephanie and her great-grandchildren Kylee, Noah, Eli, Ava, Cian, Skylar and Dylan. She is also survived by her brothers Bobby Smith and Charlie Smith and wife Karen, and by her sisters Winnie Martin and Becky Johnston and husband Steve, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00pm Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA with Rev. Wayne Rupe officiating.
