Obituary of Lorne Pernell McLane
Lorne Pernell McLane, the youngest child of Nolen McLane Sr. and Bobbie Jean (Foster) McLane, was born on the 31st day of August 1963 in Albion, Michigan. Lorne was called to his forever home on the 5th day of May 2019. Lorne grew up in Albion where he was well known and loved by the Albion community. Lorne also gave his life to the Lord at a very young age and received water baptism in the Kalamazoo River by Elder James Lee. Lorne moved to Lansing, Mi. in July 1989, where he continued to grow in wisdom and love for everyone, but the less fortunate and homeless were his calling and he was moved by compassion towards them. Just recently Lorne had decided to run for City Council in Lansing, MI. so that he could put his words as a homeless advocate into action. Lorne was preceded in death by both parents, Nolen Sr. and Bobbie J. (Foster) McLane. But, his memory will live on through the following: His Eldest daughter Markiea (Alex) Love, Son Damien McLane, daughter Lyric McLane. Siblings: Brigetta M. Lumpkin, Tawanie McLane, Linda D. McLane, Hiawatha (Marcus) Wright, Sherra L. McLane, Nolen McLane Jr. and Eric D McLane, step-sister, Octavia (George) Turner. Charles Phillips Jr. (Chuckie) whom we affectionately call “nephbro” was more like a brother to Lorne rather than a nephew. Lorne was blessed to have 9 grandchildren whom he loved and adored. Also his memory will live on through a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Honorable Mention: Robert Davis and Artnell Hall, Martaysia (Tay Tay) McLane whom Lorne took the place as her dad in the absence of her own. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finely Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224.
