Maxine’s greatest passion was her family which throughout her life manifested itself in her regularly flying in her children and grandchildren for week-long family reunions either in Albion, Florida, or Nevada. Of greatest importance to her was that her children, grand, and great-grand children maintain the closeness and attachment that she so sincerely believed was essential to a secure and enduring family life. Travel was a big part of her life and she extensively toured the Far East, the former Soviet Union, South America and Europe. Additionally, she was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Albion for many years, converting to the Orthodox faith near the end of her life. She was very fortunate to have spent her final years in the loving care of her son, Father John Konkle, his wife Amy Konkle, and the nuns at the Holy Dormition Monastery. Maxine is survived by her children, Mary Lou Konkle (Jackson), Christine (Alan) Sebesta (Montrose, CO),Edwin (Ava) Konkle (Fayetteville, AR), Father John (Amy) Konkle of Rives Junction, MI., daughter-in-law Vicki (Ted) Konkle (Albion), as well as grandchildren Christine Valentine (Russ), Simon Sytsma (Shar), Amanda Konkle-Dubiel (Jeff), David Konkle (Kim), Kristin Bush(Steve), Aaron Sebesta (Abby), John Sebesta (Claire), Nicholas Konkle, Talia Konkle (George), Jeremiah Konkle and Jared Konkle. Stoffer,(Albion), Brent Green, (Fruitport, MI) and Michelle Green-Tas (Istanbul, Turkey). Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Ruth Sharp, favorite aunt, Helen A.
