Minnie Young

Minnie Young age 81 of Marshall, formerly of Albion passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Medilodge under the loving care of her family and Elara Caring Hospice. She was born June 2, 1938 in Salyersville, KY; she was the last surviving child of 6 children born to Fred and Tilda (Workman) Patton. Preceding her in death are her parents, 1st husband, Daniel J. Roberts, 2nd husband, Dan Young, 2 children: Connie Gibson and Dennis Roberts and 5 siblings: George, Paul, Silas, Alma and Floyd. Minnie was a very dedicated mother and grandmother who put her family before all else. She had a very big, generous heart and was always giving to others. She was also known to have a unique personality, an infectious belly laugh and was a very straight-forward woman who would always let people know where they stood with her. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ricky (Teresa) Stone, Sandra (Shen) Vanderheyden, Dwayne Roberts, Donnie (Andrena) Roberts, Doris Roberts-Hayes, Dale (Patricia) Roberts, 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Minnie’s family will celebrate her life on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with visitation starting at 11AM followed by the service at 12PM NOON. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
