Cleo Van Godfrey

Cleo Vancel (Van) Godfrey, 94, of Little Rock, passed away September 29, 2019. He was born September 26, 1925 in Bearden, Arkansas, to the late Charles and Mable “Williams” Godfrey.
Van graduated from Hampton High School in 1944. Graduated from Little Rock Junior College in 1957. He retired from Chicopee and Johnson and Johnson, in North Little Rock, after 37 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Van was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and Razorback fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 52 years, Patricia Godfrey; daughter, Tina Godfrey; and 6 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Godfrey; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thanks to his physicians, Dr. David Jones and Dr. Thomas Cain for keeping him healthy for so many years. The Staff at Briarwood Rehabilitation. His stockbroker, Carolyn Watson, for being such a great friend and financial advisor. And a very special thank you to all of his friends and members at Markham Street Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held October 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas or Arkansas Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis.
