Obituary of Leroy Dibble
DIBBLE, LEROY H. JR.; 83; of Clearwater, Florida; passed away at his home on October 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois, and their infant daughter, Susan. Surviving relatives include his sons Donald Dibble (Susan) of Waynesville, NC and Douglas Dibble (Cyndi) of Bellevue, NE; grandchildren Zachary Dibble (Megan) of Sioux Falls, SD and Caitlin Dibble of Waynesville, NC; sister Betty Ann Skrzypczak of Sedalia, MO; and many cousins and in-laws. LeRoy was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, where he met and married Lois J. Hawks. He was a fireman for the Ann Arbor Fire Department for 33-years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. LeRoy took his responsibility toward his family seriously, often working 2 or 3 jobs. He lived simply, had a strong sense of family, and devoted his life to serving others. When his wife, Lois, became ill he was her caretaker for several years until she passed away…always there to help in any way needed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and Michigan football. Upon his retirement, LeRoy relocated to Clearwater, Florida. From there he made the most of his retirement years, fishing in Yellowstone National Park, becoming an Alaskan fishing guide, and touring America on his motorcycle. LeRoy was an active member of Chapter FL1-M of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Meuhlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor, MI, with visitation on Thursday, October 10th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Ann Arbor, MI on Friday, October 11th at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Arborcrest Cemetery.
