Alex "Ossie" Osinchuk

Alex (Ossie) Osinchuk October 8, 1918 – May 29, 2018 Ossie Osinchuck, late of Barrhead, Alberta, passed away on May 29 2018 at the age of 99 years. He is survived by his grandsons; Shawn McPherson (Nicole) of Ottawa, ONT, Ande Jacksen (Haley) of Fort Assiniboine, AB, great granddaughter; Courtney Berg of Onoway, AB. Ossie is predeceased by his parents; Stephan and Anna, wife; Anne (nee Szerenas), daughter; Sharon McPherson, sister; Mary, Effie, brothers; Steve and Len. Ossie enlisted in the Canadian Air Force in World War II and worked as a mechanic on military aircraft. After the war he obtained his automotive mechanics license and operated out of his own shop for many years. He was an avid Hunter, loved to fish, enjoyed playing cards and dancing, but most of all he was a family man teaching youngsters about life. The family would like to thank staff at Hillcrest Lodge and Barrhead hospital for many years of good care. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 between 7-9 p.m. at Rose Garden Chapel in Barrhead. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Father Johnny VC celebrant. Interment to take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Edmonton. In lieu of flowers a donation could be sent to Stars air ambulance or charity of choice.
