Sadah Rothman Steele Jackson

Sadah was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 17, 2019. She was born on June 15, 1934, to the late Grover and Lois (McKinney) Shrewsbury of Barker's Ridge. Sadah enjoyed cooking meals with her home full of family, especially during the holidays. If there was a little one around, she loved rocking them to sleep. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for her family that are treasured keepsakes. She also enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, and collecting dishes. She was a special blessing to her children and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Alma Shrewsbury; a brother-in-law, Ivan Phillips; sister-in-law, Gordenia Shrewsbury and brother-in-law Jack Canada. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Danny Belcher, David (Karen) Belcher, Sandra (Darryl) Raso, Tamara (Terry) Saunders, Jason Steele, and David (Amanda) Steele II; grandchildren, Natasha (Keith) Holt, Forrest (Kelly) Belcher, Michael (Amy) Belcher, Justin (Jina) Belcher, Chance Raso, Dustin Saunders, Brianna (Josh) Queen, and Rowan, David III, and Remington Steele and Brinlee Steele; and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Vadah Phillips, Lena (Thomas) Buchanan, Frances Canada, Kyle (Drema) Shrewsbury, Doug (Faye) Shrewsbury, Shirley (Merle) Bishop, Goldie (Curtis) Shrewsbury, and Darlene (Eddie) Clay; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1-3 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Sunday, October 20, 2019. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. The burial will take place immediately afterwards at Sunset Memorial Park on Harper Road in Beckley where she will be laid to rest by her former husband, David Steele. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Home and Summers County EMS for the special care given to Sadah.
