Ada Louise Garner, age 94, of Ellettsville passed away Tuesday afternoon (10/15/19) at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. Born March 20, 1925 in Daviess County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Austin Benson and Maud Jane (Williams) Osmon. Before retirement, she was a housemother and cook at Indiana University with Phi Delta Theta fraternity. She later served as a caregiver for Area 10 Agency on Aging. She loved 4-H, studying genealogy, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading as well as spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Stanford Baptist Church.
Ada is survived by her four children; Heidi McNew (husband-Danny), of Ellettsville, Caroline Buckner (husband-Baysul), of Bloomfield, Dr. William H. Garner, Jr. (wife-Margaret), of Camden, Maine and Jon Garner (wife-Donna), of Ellettsville, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Howard Garner, Sr. and ten brothers and sisters.
There will be a private family celebration at a later date.
