Eleanor Huff

We sadly announce the passing of Eleanor Huff (nee Laing) on January 3, 2019 in her 95th year at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Benjamin (Ben) Huff (1988). Dear mother of Joseph Huff (Kathryn), James Huff (Linda) and the late Donald Huff (2016). Eleanor was much loved by her six grandchildren: Ben (Carolyn), Adam (Kaori), Andrew, Paul, Jaime (Jeff) Thibodeau and Kristina (Jeremy) Malecki and seven great grandchildren: Ayu, Reina, Joseph, Westin, Mayer, Simon and Evelyn. Eleanor was very active in her faith at St. Basil’s Church: CWL, St. Vincent de Paul volunteer and Eucharistic minister. She was also a dedicated supporter of Dr. Simone’s Canadian Food for Children. Eleanor was an original member of the forerunner of Community Living Brant and active in the establishment of Jane Laycock School. She dedicated much of her life to the loving support of her special son Donald. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the caregivers at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, particularly the caregivers on Lilac Lane for their compassion and professionalism. Friends will be received at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 96 West St., on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 from 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace St., on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 at 11am. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre would be appreciated.
