Obituary of Clinton Albert Reynolds
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Clinton Albert Reynolds on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Clinton was born to parents, Tom and Kathryn Reynolds on April 21, 1922 in Neepawa, Manitoba. His family later moved to Nipawin, Saskatchewan, where they began farming. In 1940, Clinton enlisted in the army. After spending several months training in Ontario, he was sent overseas to join the combat in WWII. He bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Clinton served with the army until 1946. During the time he was enlisted in Europe, Clinton met the love of his life, Margaret Boyle. They married in Scotland and came to Canada to begin their lives together. They started their family in Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary in 1955. Clinton was very involved in his community. Having three boys in hockey, he volunteered with the South Calgary Hockey Association for many years. When he lost his vision at the age of 64, Clinton became involved with the CNIB, where he raised funds and awareness for their various programs. He also became involved with the seniors group, The Good Companions. It was there that his dancing skills became well known, and there was fierce competition to be included on his dance card. Clinton spent over 25 years as a travelling salesman with Marshall Wells, before blindness forced him to retire at age 64. Clinton was very proud of his large family and is lovingly remembered by them. They include his sister Gladys; his children Clint Jr., Brian (Betsy), Ann Marie (Tim) and Ken (Cathy). He will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren, Tracy, Shannon (Tyler), Christine (Craig), Jody, Sean (Cassie), Jennifer (Nelson), Brian (Carly), Heather (Patrick), Christopher and Curtis. He was lucky enough to have 10 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Michaela, Lucas, Evalina, Ryder, Jaxson, Carter, Brodie, Elizabeth and Brian Jr. We would like to send a very heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Beverly AgeCare Seniors Home in Midnapore. It was there that Clinton lived out his final days with the love and respect given from a fantastic group of staff. We cannot thank you enough for all that you did during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Thursday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
