Stella Cassel
February 8, 1922 – March 10, 2019

Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 98th year.
She is reunited with her son Rodney (2016). Also beloved mother of Judi Moore-Gwynne (Doug Gwynne), Brenda Bennett, Dennis Cassel (Linda), and Wendy Henderson (Tim). She will also be lovingly remembered by her daughter in-law Shirley Cassel, grandchildren Jamie (Nicky), Liam (Jennifer), Michael (Natashia), Amanda (Shawn), and Rebecca (Randy), great-grandchildren Megan, Julia, Jacob, Makayla, Cody, Brielle, Jake, and Luke, her sister Jean McDonald and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Stella was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Legion of Mary of St. Clements Parish. She was a member of the Allan Reuter Senior Centre, serving on the Board of Directors and volunteering as the convener of the Tuck Shop and the Solo Club for several years. Family will remember Stella for her vitality, independence and sense of humour. They would like to thank the staff on the 4th Floor at C.M.H. for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519-653-3251) on Wednesday, March 13th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Bob Rumball Centre of Excellence for the Deaf or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
