Sylvia Ruth McArthur

Sylvia Ruth McArthur passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 26, 2019, in her 85th year. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Douglas McArthur in 2007. She was a loving mother to her daughters Karen McArthur (Gerard Stack) and Cathy Higgins (David), cherished grandmother to Phillip Stack (Natasha Dowling), Gregory Stack (Emma), and Carolyn Stack-Adams (Josh Adams), and a devoted great-grandmother to William, Charlotte, Forest, Logan, and Lily. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Audrey Clarke, Elizabeth Pauw, and Myrtle Coyle, and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia embraced opportunities and adventures as they came along, living life to its fullest. She enjoyed entertaining, gardening, and travelling, including a “bucket list” trip to Newfoundland in June. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arbour Trails (32 Bayberry Drive, Guelph, On, N1G 0C9), with a gathering to be held 30 minutes before. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeside Hope House (10 Cork St. E, Guelph, ON, N1H 2W8) or the Guelph General Hospital Foundation (115 Delhi St, Guelph, ON, N1E 4J4).
