OBITUARY
Dan Davis Whitener
March 16, 1935 – June 26, 2018
Dan Davis Whitener, 83, of Ooltewah, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
A native of Cherry Log, GA, he has been a resident of the Ooltewah / McDonald area most of his life and was a member of the Redemption Point Church of God. He was Owner & Operator of Whitener Landscaping for over 55 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dan always loved working outside doing tractor work and spending time with his family and grandkids.
He was the son of the late Edward William and Bana Holt Whitener and was also preceded in death by his brother R.E. Whitener.
Survivors include his loving wife Billie Ruth Whitener; three sons, Danny (Marianne) Whitener, Wendell (Gina) Whitener and Ronnie (Melissa) Whitener; grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Whitener, Wesley Whitener, Andrew (Allison) Whitener, Hollie Whitener, Winston Whitener, Jack Whitener and Davis Whitener; great-grandchildren, Mary Grace and Logan Lee; six brothers, Bob, Ralph, David, John A., Lynn and Morris; two sisters, Linda and Connie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Travis Ballinger officiating.
Interment will follow in Ooltewah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
