IN THE CARE OF
Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home
Stella Anne Marie de Fallon (nee Belanger) died peacefully at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack BC, in her 96th year.
She was born in Charny, Quebec the youngest of 7 siblings. She was predeceased by her husband Felicien, the love of her life, in 1951, her youngest daughter Christianne Camp in 1998 and her siblings. She is survived by her half sister Rose Bell of Midland, Ontario, sisters-in-law Viola Belanger of Kingston, Ontario and Theresa de Fallon of Quebec, Quebec and her daughters Cécile Duncan (Glenn) and Denise Hamalainen (Henry) both of Chilliwack and 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She moved from Whitby, Ontario to Chilliwack in 2015 and resided at the Auburn Retirement residence where she loved the view of Mount Cheam. Stella was a strong, proud and independent woman with a
wonderful sense of humour and a great love of life. Widowed early in life, she was left on her own to raise 3 young girls and although times were very tough, she managed to keep her young family housed, clothed and fed. She would often reminisce about those days and wonder how she was able to do it. Later in life, she was able to travel and had extended vacations in Spain and Italy.
Funeral services will be held at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the service starting at 2:00 PM. She will be interned later this year in St. Gilles, Quebec beside her beloved Felicien.
The family is truly thankful for the compassionate and professional care provided by the Cascade staff, volunteers and attending Doctors.
