Mary Ann Killian Perry Power

Mary Ann Killian Perry Power, age 87 of Newton, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 24, 1931 in Catawba County, the daughter of the late Sumpter L. Killian and Willie Schell Killian.
Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had retired from the City of Conover as a Deputy City Clerk. Mary Ann was active in her church, Concordia Lutheran, a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, as well as the Dorcas Society. She was also a former volunteer at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Wallace B. Perry, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Bob Carsey.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 7 years, Jack Power; son, Wallace Barry Perry, Jr. and wife, Laura; daughters, Angela P. Tate and husband, Charlie; Anita P. Day and husband Dan; sisters, Judy Carsey and Paula Brown and husband, Johnny. Mrs. Power also leaves behind 2 step-daughters, 7 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
