Obituary of Mary Ann Killian Perry Power
Mary Ann Killian Perry Power, age 87 of Newton, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 24, 1931 in Catawba County, the daughter of the late Sumpter L. Killian and Willie Schell Killian. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had retired from the City of Conover as a Deputy City Clerk. Mary Ann was active in her church, Concordia Lutheran, a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, as well as the Dorcas Society. She was also a former volunteer at Catawba Valley Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Wallace B. Perry, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Bob Carsey. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 7 years, Jack Power; son, Wallace Barry Perry, Jr. and wife, Laura; daughters, Angela P. Tate and husband, Charlie; Anita P. Day and husband Dan; sisters, Judy Carsey and Paula Brown and husband, Johnny. Mrs. Power also leaves behind 2 step-daughters, 7 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
