Obituary of Myra Nicole Lopez
Myra Nicole Lopez, age 33, went to be with Jesus on July 18, 2019 after battling CNS Lymphoma for fourteen months in the comfort of her Tia Margie Scurlocks home in Conroe, TX surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1986 in Edinburg, Texas to Lilly Olivarez and Felipe Lopez Jr. She spent her younger years in the Rio Grande Valley, surrounded by sisters, friends, and cousins. Her summer months were filled with countless days at the pool, being creative through silly projects and plays, and making mischief of all kinds with her partners in crime. Some of Myra’s fondest memories were putting on Selena concerts and dance parties in the living room with her sisters. After graduating from PSJA North High school in 2004, she spent some time in college at UTSA before settling in the Houston/Conroe area where she was surrounded by many more family and friends who loved her. Words can not describe the incredible nature of Myra and the person she was. She touched many lives through her ability to care sincerely for others and love life in a large way; maybe too much for some at times. Myra was unapologetically true to her feelings and did little to conceal them. If there is one thing to be said about this amazing person, it is that she loved to a fault. In her short time here on earth, she loved, lost, and loved again. Her true beauty was revealed through her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ and her life is a testimony that will go on to lead others to find that same relationship with Him. Myra believed that God worked all things for her good in spite of her health circumstances. She knew beyond all earthly understanding that there was and is a plan and a purpose for her complicated yet beautiful life. Myra was someone you wanted on your team and she went above and beyond to help a friend or family member. She was an absolute beauty from the inside-out. She dazzled many with her ability to be as graceful as a tight-rope walker in the tallest of heels, but the clumsiest of people in flats. Myra’s laugh was larger than life and she equally had a beautiful singing voice that could be heard over an entire church choir. We have no doubt that she is singing louder than 1,000 angels for the Lord now. We have peace knowing she is at peace. We have comfort knowing she is no longer suffering. We rejoice knowing she is singing her heart out in the presence of the Lord. Myra is survived by her mother, Lilly Olivarez, father, Felipe Lopez Jr. and wife Gracie, her sisters and spouses, Dyana & Alfredo Moya Jr. and their children Mia, Myles and Dylan Moya; Angela & Angelo Gauthier and their daughter Anaya; Lora & Iain Riddell; and Monica & Christopher Rivas and their daughters Everly & Olivia. Myra is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and the closest of friends who were more like family. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten…. Because She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten and Myra shared her glitter everywhere. “What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18 A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E.
