IN THE CARE OF
Edward F. Carter Funeral Home
Constance Jackson of Croton-on-Hudson, NY passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the age of 82. Connie was born on January 18, 1937 in Washington DC. She will be deeply missed by the Forbes family who she was with for over 40 years. Connie shared a deep bond with Gloria Forbes (now deceased) and helped love and raise Gloria and Jay’s daughter Samantha.
Connie loved animals and in her time at the Forbes home cared for two cats, two dogs, five ferrets, one rabbit and somewhat reluctantly, an iguana! She was proud of the work she did for the local Cablevision in Croton as an Assistant Videographer and also worked part time at Elliot’s General Store as well as at the Art Barn In Croton for many years.
Petite and unassuming, Connie was larger than life, a talented crafter and quilter who donated quilts, one of which can still be seen displayed outside the Pulmonary Care Unit at Phelps Memorial Hospital where she was both a patient and volunteer.
She loved listening to classical music almost as much as devouring Mallomars for dessert. She endeared herself to her friends with her gentle ways and with a heart that far exceeded her diminutive stature. She leaves us with undying love and gratitude for all that she has been and done for us.
Services for Connie will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Connie’s memory to any Animal Rescue or Shelter, especially for dogs.
