Obituary of Sarah S. Luposello
Sarah Sebastiano Luposello, 84, widow of Anthony (Sonny) Richard Luposello, peacefully passed the morning of May 30th, 2019 in the comfort and presence of family. Sarah was born to John Sebastiano and Jennie (Orsini) Sebastiano on December 4th, 1934 in Yonkers, New York. She graduated from Yonkers High School in 1952 and the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1956 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. Sarah later on received her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Bridgeport in 1980. On April 24th, 1960, she married the love of her life, Sonny, at St. Anthony’s Church in Yonkers. They were married 31 years before Sonny passed away in 1991. She had two wonderful children, Toni Anne and Anthony J. Luposello (deceased). Sarah retired from a 35-year career as a well-loved teacher in the Lakeland Central School District in Westchester County. Although she had not taught in a classroom since 1991, her students remained a powerful presence in her life, making it known what an indelible mark she left on them. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Del Pino, her daughter, Toni Anne Luposello, her grandchildren John and Sarah E. Luposello, her nieces and nephews Linda Luposello, Lisa Fox (Hugh), Johnna Culligan, Lisa McKeon (Alfie), Susan Giuliano (Pat), Mark Luposello (Cris), Ronald Luposello Jr. (Staci), Jennifer Rodrigues (Paul), and Michele Leiriao (Ricky) as well as several grand nieces and nephews. Sarah was predeceased by her beloved husband, son, sisters, Rosemarie Mackay and Lucia Culligan, and niece, Gennai Culligan. A brief wake will be held at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, New York, from 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday, June 3rd, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson, NY at 11:00 AM. The entombment will take place immediately after at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York.
