STALLARD, Heather Joy - nee Moore was born March 26, 1954 in Sydney, N.S., and died suddenly at her home in Cole Harbour on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Heather was the only child of Kevin C. Moore and Dolores Rossetti of Sydney.
Heather attended Sydney schools and graduated from Holy Angels’ High School in 1972. She was a member of the Holy Angels’ Chorale during her high school years. Heather received a B.A. at Mt. St. Vincent University in 1975 followed by a B.Ed. in 1976. She pursued a career in teaching beginning with a four year stint in Ste. Foy, Quebec and then continued teaching at Colby Village Elem. and Caldwell Road Elem. schools in Cole Harbour, N.S. Heather retired in 2009 but continued part time teaching for several years after at Caldwell Rd. School.
Heather enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ron, music, ballroom and Celtic dancing, walking with the Dartmouth Volksmarch Club and Chebucto Hiking Club, reading and spending time with their wonderful feline pets.
Heather is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Ronald; mother, Dolores and many cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Kevin in 1973. Heather was a kind, caring and generous person who valued her family & friendships.
A memorial service followed by a reception will take place in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth, N.S. on Saturday, June 8, at 11am. No flowers or visitation by request; cremation has taken place. Burial will take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 767 Main Street, Cole Harbour, N.S.
