Obituary of William Charles Leppert
Estes Park resident Bill Leppert died Monday May 27, 2019 at Estes Park Health. He was 88 years old. William Charles Leppert was born May 14, 1931 in Iowa. His parents were William “Dale” and Bessie (Ryals) Leppert. He graduated from Hastings, NE High School. On January 29, 1956 he married Connie Goldenstein in Hastings. Bill enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country in the Korean War aboard the USS Caperton as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a police officer in Lincoln, NE, and “moonlighted” as a carpenter, working to support his family. He quit working as an officer because “he made more money as a carpenter”. He became a Construction Superintendent for Carmichael Construction in Hastings. Work took him across Nebraska building hospitals and nursing homes. Then he traveled to Indiana, Idaho, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas and Colorado, always moving his family with him. In 1983, Bill and Connie decided to settle down and they chose to move to Loveland, CO, where they had lived from 1974-1975. He worked for Adolfson & Peterson in the Denver metro area for 13 years as Superintendent on commercial construction projects. Bill retired in 1998, while living in Loveland, then he and Connie moved to Estes Park in 2006, where they were members of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church. Connie died June 30, 2013 and Bill finished his life out in Estes Park. He is survived by his sons- Bruce (Faye), Steve (Tracey) and Tim (Heather) and daughter-in-law Rene Leppert. He is also survived by grandchildren Bryan, Kelsey, David, Rebecca, Julie, Chad, Marinda, Craig, Nicky, Melissa, Jessica, Holly, Daniel and William and great-grandchildren Ethan, Hayden, Bryson, Brayden, Paisley, Bodan, Maddie, Steven, Hazel and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son Rick in 2011 and sister Betty Jo Henson in 2013. A memorial service will be held Friday May 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church.
