Marie Scott Braswell

Marie Scott Braswell, age 94 passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019. She was born on Wednesday, December 10, 1924. She was a great mother, homemaker, teacher and gardener, and quilter. She received a lot of recognition throughout her life. She laid the foundation for her children to succeed in life using the Bible as their guide. This is why her children lift her up to God and call her blessed. She is survived by her children Teresa Lee, John Braswell, Nadell Howell (Greg), and Odell Braswell Jr. (Denice); grandchildren Janet Lee, Bobbie Jean Greene (Michael), Jaime Lee (Shannon), Stephanie Braswell, Barry Braswell, Jenny Wilcox (Will), Kelly Sullivan (BJ), Jordan Braswell, Brandi Wise (deceased), and Brian Wood; 19 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Marie earned her Master in Education and taught at David Lipscomb, Isaac Litton, Goodlettsville High School and Stratford High School. A celebration of life will be conducted 2pm Friday, August 9, 2019 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Leslie Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5pm until 7pm and 12pm until 2pm Friday, August 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
