Obituary of Kimberly Alice Mattson
On Wednesday, September 25th, 2019, Kimberly Alice Mattson passed away peacefully in her sleep in Greensboro, North Carolina. While she spent the last 15 years in North Carolina, this state was not her only home. Kimberly was born in Hollywood in 1969, to parents Barbara and William Mattson, before eventually moving to Arizona, her home for many years. In Arizona, she attended Marana High School and was presented with numerous awards acknowledging her strong skills as a softball player, a talent that came naturally to her. Kimberly is remembered as a lover of people and animals alike, though she had a particularly special bond with her dog Mack. Her inviting and bubbly personality often drew others to her and she would welcome anyone with open arms. Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, reading books, and watching films. Kim had the gift of finding joy in life’s simple pleasures and there were not many foods she would eat without ketchup. Kimberly was easy to please and even easier to get along with. While Kim faced her own struggles later in life, she was always a friend to anyone in need, giving others strength even during her own hardships. Many knew her to be a woman who was tough as nails with a heart of gold and she had a way of loving people without judgment, particularly when they needed it the most. Kimberly is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Brydon, and her three sisters, Carole Woodhouse, Barbara Mattson, and Diana Peyman. Family and friends alike will miss her warm presence dearly. Those who knew Kimberly or wish to honor her memory are invited to join the family in a celebration of life, which will take place at 3pm on Saturday, October 12th at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro.
