George Whalen Loppie

George Whalen Loppie Aged 63, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Kathleen (Downey) and the late George Loppie, Sr. Georgie will be dearly missed by his children, sons, Georges (Toni) Loppie and Jason MacLean; daughters, Sereatha "Dellie" (Don) Sweetland; Alexandra (Simon) Bielby and Courtney Holland. He is also survived by his brothers, James, Stanford "Ducky" (Pat), David "Dino" (Kim), Derrick and sisters Sandra (Shawn), Kathleen "Leeny" and Theresa; cherished grandchildren, Tremaine, Jalen, Delicia, Latrell, Latrayah, Mateo, Janae and Dorian; adored by his goddaughters Lillian (Nadine) Downey and Danine Clayton; a beloved best friend and love throughout life, Gayle Sweetland; special daughters, Oshawnda and Shawndell and special grandchildren Dre and Ori. Georgie enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and making various crafts. Throughout his life, Georgie was fondly admired by all who knew him and was known for his fun-loving, entertaining personality and contagious big smile. In accordance with Georgie's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, on Friday, November 16th at 11a.m with Dr. Rhonda Y. Britton officiating. Donations in memory of Georgie can be made to New Horizons Baptist Church or a charity of your choice
