Howard Higgins
Howard Sinclair Higgins passed away on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. He was the son of the late John and Nora Higgins and husband of the late Ann Lillian Higgins.
Howard was an educator in the public school system where he taught academic subjects as well as Industrial Arts. Along with his wife Lily they loved to travel and spend time together. Howard enjoyed a good game of hockey either playing in his younger years or simply relaxing and watching on TV, cheering on the Habs.
He is survived by his sisters Nina Thornhill (Jim), NL, Alice Baker (Alan), Lower Sackville and Judy Brown (Gerald), Harrietsfield; brothers Terry, Harrietsfield, Neil, BC and Bill (Nancy), Ontario; sisters-in-law Esther, Upper Musquodoboit and Eleanor, BC; brothers-in-law Bob Aucoin, Halifax and Ron Bowser. Howard is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Howard is predeceased by sisters Linda Higgins, Madeline Giles and Trudy Aucoin; brothers Marcus, Leonard, Russell and Wesley; brother-in-law Russell Giles and sister-in-law Katy.
Thank you to all the staff at Citadel Court in Parkstone Enhanced Care for their professional and compassionate care for Howard.
A memorial mass will be held 11am on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church, 1102 Purcell’s Cove Road, Halifax, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven.
