Deweese Callahan

Deweese Callahan, age 95, of Hixson, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019. She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. Deweese was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Darl Callahan; daughter, Hannah Oldaker; parents, Cenia and John Armstrong; sister, Sally King. Deweese is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Terry) Shannon and Connie (Rick) Davis; grandchildren, Tyler (Amy) Shannon, Carrie (Mike) Hodges and Casey (Megan) Conley; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Gordon Armstrong. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, 13, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A graveside service for Deweese will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hixson First Baptist Church, 5800 Grubb Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
