Jay Harriss

Jay Harriss, 90, was born on February 25, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee, and passed away in Houston, Texas on Monday, April 29, 2019. Jay was a Marine Corp Veteran who served in the Korean War. His passions were playing Bridge, listening to classical music and enjoying his cats. Jay is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Barbee Harriss; companions, Millie and Nell Oppenheim. He is survived by his nieces and nephew, Brenda Johnson of Ohio, Anne Hassle of Nevada, Walt King of Texas, Elisabeth Baker and Claire Cepeda, both of Tennessee; Nell's sons, Roger and Duncan Oppenheim. A Celebration of Life service honored Jay at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas.
