Obituary of Ernestina "Tina" Fuentes Garcia
Ernestina "Tina" Garcia Fuentes passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2019, in Tomball, Texas. She was born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She began her early career as a nanny and housekeeper for Mr. Springer, who worked for the U.S. Customs Department for many years. Later, she chose to relocate to Detroit, Michigan to join her brother, Fernando, and older sister, Maria. She worked for a doctor as a nanny and a housekeeper until his children were grown, and later worked for Greyhound in food service. Tina was endlessly devoted to helping those around her. She chose to return to Texas to join her sister, Maria, and her niece, Janie Lang, in Austin. She worked as a housekeeper and nanny for Dr. Brumley and Dr. Dale Parker for many years. Later, she took a job in food service for a fraternity house at the University of Texas. Tina then moved to Spring to join her niece, Gloria Stryker, and her help her raise her two children, Stacy Stryker and Elizabeth Stryker, and her grandchildren, Mallory Schreiber and Paige Porter, where she resided until her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando Garcia Laos and San Juana Garcia Fuentes; sisters, Consuelo Garcia, Tomacita Garcia, Maria Garcia Hernandez, Santos Garcia Fuentes, and her brother Fernando Garcia. She is survived by her brother, Juan Jose Garcia of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She leaves behind three nieces, two nephews, many great-nieces, great-nephews, and many beloved friends. Tina loved socializing, dancing, music, and shopping. She loved being well-dressed, even if it was a trip to the store. Along with her love of music, her favorite drink besides lemonade was a cold Dos Equis beer or a margarita. She made friends wherever she went and loved to travel. Later in life, she traveled to many places with her nieces and brother Fernando. Whether a short cruise to an island or a quick trip to just lay on the beach in the beautiful white sands of Mexico, Tina had her passport and was ready anytime to go anywhere. Tina was a great woman and we know with no doubt that her last trip was going to our Heavenly Father, our Lord in Heaven. We will miss her, and we are so blessed to have shared in her adventures over the years. We all love you, and we will forever cherish every moment, every time we had with you, our beloved Tina. We truly look forward to our day when we will all be reunited.
