Thomas Griffin Starling

Thomas (Tommy) Griffin Starling, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2019. Tommy retired from Gerdau Ameristeel after 35 years of service. Tommy was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Bernice Starling; his parents Fleam and Nettie Starling; sister Lucille Cauley and brothers James Starling and Robert Starling. He is survived by his son Greg Starling (Heidi), grandchildren Anastasia and Gabriel Starling; daughters Vickie Brint, Vera Thrift and Valerie Brooks; grandchildren Danielle Ruben, Emily Thrift, Chelsea Brint, Dustin Johnson and Clay Brooks; brothers Frank Starling (Alice), Arthur (Mark) Starling, twin brother Timothy Starling (Toni), and sister Martha Lee (Calvin). Tommy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6-8pm, funeral service is scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Both are at Hardage Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
