Martha Nell Childers

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Martha Nell Childers on Saturday September 21, 2019 - 12pm at Tara Garden Chapel - 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA. Visitation will also be Saturday from 10am-12pm. She will be laid to rest at Westminster Memorial Gardens – 2090 Hwy 54, Peachtree City, GA. Reverend Jake Gould, pastor of Griffin First Assembly of Newnan Georgia will preside. Martha Nell was the daughter of John Avery Duke and Clara Brown Duke. Martha resided in Valley, AL until her move to Atlanta, GA where she was married to her husband James R. Childers until his death in 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, her son, Greg Langley, also precedes her in death. She leaves behind one sister, Hazel Reed of Orlando, FL as well as three sons Barry Arnette (Marlene) of Bossier City, LA, Alan Langley (Lynn) of Newnan, GA and Scott Langley (Bridget) of Cartersville, GA. She also leaves a host of grandchildren - Paxton, Jamie, Chad, Jonathan, Natasha, Josh, Keri, Destaney, Christian, Joseph and Jacob as well as lots of great grandchildren. Martha Nell went to be with her lord and savior on September 18, 2019 shortly after midnight. She was blessed with a life centered around family, friends and her Christian faith. She was known for her great sense of humor and upbeat personality. She loved to travel especially to the mountains. She enjoyed close relationships with her siblings, children, grandkids, friends, nieces and nephews. With a very generous heart, she gave many wonderful memories to those who knew and loved her. Her grand and great grandchildren were very special to her and knew her as both Grandmother and GiGi.
