Robert J. Martel

Robert J. “Bob” Martel, 74, of Harrisville, passed away on May 9, 2019 in the comfort of home in Pittsfield, NH surrounded by family following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 7, 1944 in Keene, the son of Robert James and Marcia Vivian (Rush) Martel. Following graduation from Keene High School, Bob entered the United States Air Force where he served his country from 1962 to 1966. On October 4, 1980 Bob married Catherine A. Eckel. They celebrated 29 years together before her passing in 2010. Bob worked for Kingsbury Corporation for 27 years as a Service Technician. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Teleflex Medical as a Maintenance Mechanic. Bob was a strong and brave man with a patient and loving nature. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. There was nothing that was more important to him than his family. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Bob will be dearly missed by his daughters: April Treat and her husband Christopher of Pittsfield, NH, Kim Martel of Minnesota, and Karen Gianferrari and her husband Michael of Keene, NH; grandchildren: Ayla Treat, McKenzie Treat, Daniel Moske, Jr., Heather Moske, Hillary Moske, Hali Moske, Aidan Gianferrari, and Brynn Gianferrari; brother: Jim Martel and his wife Corinne of Florida; dog: Stitch; and cat: Kit Kat. He was predeceased by his wife: Catherine Martel; and parents: Robert and Marcia Martel. Family and friends are invited to call at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A graveside service with military honors will take place at the St. Denis Cemetery, Nelson Road, Harrisville, NH on Wednesday, May 15 at 10:00 am.
