Kenneth Leonard Bortner Jr.
August 28, 1944 – April 25, 2018

Celebration of Life Services for Kenneth Leonard Bortner, Jr. will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive guests to celebrate Ken’s life, his love for his family, and his service to his country from noon until service time, prior to the service on Tuesday.
He was born on August 28, 1944 In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and joined Our Savior Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
Survivors include his son, Sean Christopher Bortner, Sr, of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Michelle Hann of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Kaden, Anna, Jennifer, Ashley, Amberly, Brianna and Chloe; four great-grandchildren, Marcello, Anthony, Tater and Carter; brother, Bill Bortner; along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Ruth (Moyer) and Kenneth Leonard Bortner, Sr.
This day will be to celebrate a man who was a friend to anyone he met, loved his children and gran-children and great gran-children very much.
Ken had a contagious laugh and a sense of humor that constantly put a smile on the face of many people. He served his country for many years and managed several retail stores during his career.
He had a passion for plants and gardening and keeping his yard beautiful. He had a large group of followers through his internet and face-book page where he kept everyone entertained.
He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him and his memory will live on forever through the legacy he has left behind as an amazing friend, and father.
