Sarah "Sally" E. Smith
December 21, 1927 – May 7, 2019

LYNN - Sarah Elizabeth (Pearson) Smith, 91, of Beverly, formerly a longtime resident of Lynn, passed
away on Tuesday, May 7 th , at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly
surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was the devoted wife of the late Richard Smith with whom she
shared over 25 years of marriage.
She was the loving mother of Christine Boisson and her late husband, John Boisson , of Londonderry,
NH, Philip Smith and his wife, Sherry of Coral Springs, FL, Susan Forrest and her husband, Bruce of Lynn,
and Pamela Smith and her husband, Leland of Parrish, FL; the cherished grandmother of John Boisson
and his wife, Belinda Boisson, Elizabeth Palange and her husband, Mark, Shelby Harper and her
husband, Gregory, Lori Rine and her husband, Jared, Stephen Rines and his wife, Carolann, Adrienne
Haglin, and her husband, Andrew, and Matthew Smith; and the adoring great-grandmother of Stella and
Eliana Boisson, Lorelai and Lucas Palange, Philip and Aubrey Harper, Cole Rine, Bailey Grace Rines, and
Katherine and Emma Haglin. Sarah is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family in
England.
Born and educated in Durham, England, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Burns)
Pearson. Sarah enjoyed playing bingo and had a passion for knitting that she passed down to her
children. She made clothes for herself and family, including many Irish knit sweaters and even an entire
wool outfit. Sarah also loved ballroom dancing to big band music with her late husband including at the
Lynn VFW. It was always a pleasure for her children to watch them dancing together. Most of all Sarah
enjoyed spending time with her family and helping to care for her grandchildren, including on an
infamous afternoon in the Lynn Woods hiking to High Rock Tower and watching them play tennis.
