James Lee Schaaf

James Lee Schaaf, 74, passed away Wednesday, December 04, 2013. Memorial Services and a Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Highland Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Jake Hall will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon 31211 or Hospice Care Options, 486 New Street, Macon 31201. Mr. Schaaf was born in Redlands, CA the son of the late Esther Mary Schrader Schaaf and Roy Karl Schaaf. He was retired from the United States Air Force as a missile maintenance officer. Mr. Schaaf was an avid gardener, a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, and was known by his grandchildren as “Papa”. Mr. Schaaf is survived by his wife, Beverly Hutson Schaaf of Macon; daughter, Rejeana Cassady (David) of Macon; son, James Eric Schaaf (Karen) of Turlock, CA; grandchildren, Jonathan and Megan Cassady all of Macon, Hannah, James, Thomas and Matthew Schaaf all of Turlock, CA; sister, Jean Ann Little of Yucaipa, CA; two nieces and two nephews; mother-in-law, Anna Laura Hutson of Oklahoma City.
