Kenneth L. Hillman, Sr., age 90, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born on September 1, 1928 to the late John and Margaret Hillman.
Mr. Hillman served in the United States Navy during WWII. In his earlier years, he loved golf and was very active in church. He served on the Missions Board with the Lutheran Church that facilitated with growing churches. Mr. Hillman retired from Duracell Inc. as an Accountant. After retirement, he took up photography, enjoyed traveling out west and loved cats.
Mr. Hillman is survived by his daughter, Linda Prall of Huntersville, NC and son, Kenneth L. Hillman, Jr. of Mint Hill, NC.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Minerva Hillman and his sister, Edie Silfies.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina from 7:00 pm until 9:00pm. Mr. Hillman's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Morning Star Lutheran Chapel with Pastor Naomi Carriker officiating, 12900 Idlewild Road, Matthews, North Carolina 28105. A committal service will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House - Huntersville, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, North Carolina 28078.
