Mr. James "J.T" Thomas Nance Jr.

Mr. James Thomas “J.T” Nance Jr., age 72, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Nance was born January 10, 1940 in Union County N.C., son of the late James Thomas Nance Sr. and Sylvania Mullis Nance. J.T. was also preceded in death by his first wife; Sylvia Rowell Nance who died October 1, 1999. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate the life of J.T. will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Bill Englebreth and Rev. Bob Short officiating, interment will follow in the Emmanuel Cemetery, with Masonic Rites by the Midland Lodge # 618, where J.T. was a Master Mason for 37 years and a member of the Scottish Rites. Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Edith Oakley Nance of the home, sons; Todd Nance and wife Terri of Blythwood S.C., Randy Nance and wife Rhonda of Monroe N.C., grandchildren; Jeremy Nance, Zachery Whitley, Justin Nance, Tabatha Nance and Brianna Nance, five great grandchildren, step son; Chris Oakley and wife Lenee’ of Kannapolis N.C., step daughter; Donna Oakley Clark and husband John of Kannapolis N.C., step grandchildren; Nathan Oakley, Aaron Oakley, Matthew Oakley, Maddie Oakley, Abigail Oakley and Brianna Clark. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church in honor of Landon Barbee, 3522 Secrest Short Cut Road, Monroe N.C. 28110. On line condolences may be sent to www.mcewenmonroechapel.com.
