Andrew Quigley

Andrew (Andy) Quigley, resident of New City, NY was born to Sarah Cahill Quigley and Edward Quigley on July 19, 1961 and passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. One of four siblings: Ted (Debbie) Quigley, Julie (Mike) O'Connell and Kate (Mike) McDonagh, Andy grew up in Brooklyn in a loving family. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School and Nazareth Regional High School where he developed friendships that have been maintained throughout the years. Andy earned a Bachelor's Degree at St. Francis College where he majored in Social Studies. While there, he also pursued his interest in theater. His career in education began at Archbishop Molly High School in 1987. He remained there until 1999 when he joined the Ramapo Central School District at Suffern High School where he taught AP and honors classes to 9th and 10th graders. In 1983, Andy met Sharon Albergo while still a student at St. Francis College. They were married in July 1988 and began their married life in Brooklyn. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children, Sarah & Jonathan. The family moved to Rockland County in 1993 where their children have attended the Clarkstown Schools. Sarah is a sophomore at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA and Jonathan is a graduating senior at Clarkstown H.S. South. The Quigley family life has been full of love, warmth and laughter. All who met Andy have been impressed by his quick wit and broad smile. Andy is survived by his wife, Sharon, children, Sarah & Jonathan, his mother, Sally Quigley, his three siblings mentioned above and his father-in-law, John Albergo. He is also survived by Sharon's siblings, John Albergo, Laura Albergo (Walter) and Joyce Reynolds (Paul), nieces and nephews: Holly Reynolds, Carianne & Ryan Quigley, Michael & Caitlin O'Connell, Mary, Seamus and Kelly McDonagh. Family may receive friends today, October 21, from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 22, 10am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Sarah Quigley" and "Jonathan Quigley" to assist with their college education; PO Box #2002, New City, NY 10956.
