Doris L. Salton

Funeral services for Doris L. Salton, age 94 of Ogdensburg, will be held on Thursday (May 23, 2019) at 10:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at the Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon. Calling hours will be held from 9:00am until the time of the service at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Salton passed away on Tuesday (May 21, 2019) at the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg. Surviving is a step-son Bernard Salton of Ogdensburg; step-grandchild Lori (Greg) Sharland of Ogdensburg; step-great-grandchildren Brittany (Jacob) Thornton and Brandy Sharland both of Ogdensburg; a niece Barbara Grodewald of Florida and several great-nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Salton Jr.; step-son Robert Salton & his wife Lucy; and a step-grandson Randy Salton and a nephew Larry LaLone. Doris was born on March 7, 1925 in Ferndale MI, a daughter of George & Adele (Lihau) Nichols. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and the Wallace Secretarial School. She later married Raymond J. Salton on December 4, 1949 in Englewood, NJ. During her career she was employed in the business office at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as an account clerk for 38 years. She retired in 1983. She was a member of the Nevin Memorial Church in Lisbon, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV, visits from family and friends and her pet cat.
