Robert H. Smith Jr.

A private family gathering to celebrate the life of Robert “Bob” H. Smith Jr., age 66 of Waddington will be held on Sunday (May 19, 2019). His place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park. Surviving is his father Robert H. Smith Sr., of Ogdensburg; two sons Jerramiah Smith & his companion Christina Laddison of Canton and Justin Smith & his companion Jamie Cota of Madrid; a daughter Ann Kendall & her husband Mike of Waddington; a brother Paul Smith of Ogdensburg; sisters Mary Rayburn & her husband Harold of Lisbon, Debra Gamble of Ogdensburg and Nancy Moore & her husband John of Heuvelton; twelve grandchildren Lyndon Lockwood, Jordon Kendall, Matthew Kendall, Shelby Kendall, Seth Smith, Logan LaRock, Ethan Smith, Trenton Smith, Lynx Smith, Angela Smith, Nevaeh Ashley and Brentlee Smith; 1 great-grandson on the way; an aunt Mary (Cooper) Martin of Star Lake along with many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Theresa M. Smith in 2008; his wife Angela Smith in 1995 and a brother Charles Smith in 2000. Bob was born on October 22, 1952 in Star Lake NY, a son of Robert H. & Theresa M. (Cooper) Smith. He attended local schools and later received his GED from Canton High School. He first married Susan LaPlantney in 1970 which later ended, and he then found the love of his life, Angela Chambers. He was a self-employed contractor known as “Bob the Builder” that designed and built log homes for many years. He loved being outdoors, logging, playing guitar, writing poetry, socializing with friends, spending time with his children and grandchildren and his pet dog patches.
