Obituary of Rory James Miroslav Costigan
Rory James Miroslav Costigan, beloved son and brother, died in his family home on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 23. Cremation Rites will be accorded. Rory was born in Varna, Bulgaria on July 21, 1996. His parents, Mike and Suzanne Costigan, brought their son home to Texas on May 13, 2000 to his sister Karyn and a large extended family in Richardson, Texas. Rory celebrated his adoption or “gotcha” date annually and became a US citizen in 2001. From a young age, Rory lived a life of service and giving back to others. He had many accomplishments as a young man, including achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow, Vigil honor. Rory graduated from Richardson High School in 2015 where he enjoyed and excelled at cross country running. He also attended Texas A&M University in Texarkana, TX. Rory had an uncontainable spirit, infectious smile, strong work ethic, and a drive to accomplish big things in life. He loved his family, friends, the outdoors, John Wayne movies, working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and spending time at his uncle’s family ranch in Blue Ridge, TX. Rory had so much curiosity, so much generosity, so much empathy for others, an innate way of putting others immediately at ease. He was the kind of person you could meet for a day but remember for a lifetime. He leaves behind parents Suzanne and Michael Costigan of Richardson, TX; sister and brother in law Karyn and Bill McKenna of Park City, Utah; and a large extended family. Rory will be forever loved and missed, and left a big mark on this world in his short time here on earth. May God bless his precious soul. “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” Psalm 34: 18-19 Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, Texas has charge of arrangements.
