OBITUARY
John George Kamla
January 25, 1930 – September 28, 2019
IN THE CARE OF
Greenwood Memorial Park & Funeral Home
On Saturday, September 28, 2019, John George Kamla passed from this world to join his parents, sister, and many friends who have gone before him. He will watch over those left behind, including his sister Janet, daughter Jeannie and sons Tom and Dan (wife Kim) as well as grandchildren Kristina, Colin, Hailey, and Logan.
John was very social always choosing activities where he could share experiences with others. He loved to dance, spinning all the pretty ladies around the dance floor. He also enjoyed traveling, cycling, camping, bowling and cross country skiing.
His passion for airplanes and flying encompassed his 20 years of service in the Air Force (Lt. Colonel), career of 34 years as a Draftsman Engineer for Boeing, as well as his life-long hobby of model airplane design, building and free flight competitions.
John was affectionately known as “The Hugger" due to his practice of sharing kindness by giving free hugs on every major holiday and often times on an ordinary day.
The world has lost a Hugger. Help fill the void and give a hug every day.
Dad was a big supporter of the Union Gospel Mission Seattle.
