Donald "Brownie" Arthur Brown
January 20, 1947 – May 7, 2019

Donald A. “Brownie” Brown, 72 of New Sewickley Township, passed on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born January 20, 1947 in Beaver Falls, son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Eckhart) Brown. Known by family and friends as “Brownie”, he retired after 40 years of service with NOVA Chemical as a pipefitter and store room administrator.
Brownie loved the outdoors, whether quad riding or deer hunting. He was a member of the Rochester Sportsmen’s Club where he liked to trap shoot. Brownie also enjoyed crafting with hobbies of needlepoint art and woodworking. Friends and family have a variety of his crafts that they will cherish as keepsakes. He was a member of Unionville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Donna Manning.
Brownie is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years: Mary (Grimes) Brown; one son and daughter-in-law: Cory (Georgetta) Brown, Ocala, FL; one daughter and son-in-law: Julie (Brian) Chips, Evans City; two grandchildren: Philip Chips, Renfrew, PA; Cody Sadler of Wyoming; his brother and sister-in-law: Rev. Thomas (Sharon) Brown, Stoystown, PA; brother-in-law: Edward Manning, Brook Park (Cleveland), OH; as well as loving and dear nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Unionville United Methodist Church, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to the church in his memory. Arrangements are by the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Rochester. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com
