Obituary of Thomas P. Flynn
Thomas P. Flynn, formerly of Goshen, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 18, 2018. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Gayle; his 3 children: Dan (Christie), Sean (Anne), and Kelly; brothers, Jerry and Rick; and grandchildren, Maggie, Connor and Tommy. Tom graduated from Miami University (Oxford) and University of Dayton School of Law with B.A. and M.A degrees. He served 6 years in the Infantry with the Ohio Army National Guard and the United States Reserves. Tom co-founded the Legler and Flynn Law Group as a trial Attorney and was licensed to practice law in Ohio and in Florida. Tom held elected office as Fire Commissioner with Cedar Hammock Fire Department. Tom was an active public servant and a dedicated and loving father and grandfather. He coached Little League, Soccer, Mock Trial at BCS and was a Scout Leader. He was Past President of the Manatee County Bar Association & member of the Grievance & Ethics Committee. He also served as Past President of BNI. He was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of the Celebration Singers, lector, and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus - Officer Advocate. Tom was a Co­ Founder of Greater Dayton Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Past President & Former Board Member of Manasota SOLVE Maternity Home. Tom was an avid fisherman, loved boating and he was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved the outdoors. Tom was known to family, friends and strangers alike as a generous, loving man. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm; Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Manasota SOLVE Maternity Homes, or St. Vincent de Paul of St. Joseph's.
