Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Pluhta
Elizabeth Ann Pluhta-Inman passed away on April 26, 2019. She was surrounded by friends and loved ones at the time of her passing, and will be eternally missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was born on May 23rd, 1979 in Pullman, Washington and is survived by her husband, Brendon, their beloved Dauschund Quincy, by her parents Mary and Joseph (Pete) Pluhta, and by her brother Michael Pluhta. Elizabeth worked as the Vice President of Administration at South Seattle College, and had served the campus in other capacities since 2004. Elizabeth graduated from Pullman High School, secured her undergraduate education at Gonzaga, her masters at the University of Washington, and her PhD at Seattle University. Elizabeth was a tireless advocate for education, and was passionate about helping ensure access for under served students to college education. One of her proudest achievements was being one of the leaders in establishing the 13th Year Promise Scholarship at South Seattle College in 2011. This program has now been expanded to a city-wide program for all of the Seattle Colleges, guaranteeing access to post High School education for all residents. In her spare time, Elizabeth loved 90's hip hop, in addition to an eclectic mix of rock and roll music. She also loved going out to dinner and drinks with friends on the weekends, and exploring the newest hot spot on the Seattle restaurant scene. Elizabeth was always very honest with those closest to her, and loved to tell stories and laugh, often at the expense of her friends and loved ones! Elizabeth cherished opportunities to travel, see the world, and also to just spend time to unwind and relax in a warm place poolside with her favorite cocktail.
