James A. Mortellaro, 77, of Tampa, FL passed away Friday, May 10, 2019. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra; children; Pete (Pam), Gina (Pete), and Michelangelo (Bethany); grandchildren; Gregory (Olivia), Alexandria, Olivia, Enzo, Luca, and Gio; and his great-granddaughter, Eleanor.
Jim took great pride in his Sicilian heritage and was a third generation, active member of The Italian Club of Tampa in Ybor City. He had a passion for sailing and loved water-front living.
Jim proudly served in the United States Navy. Following his service in the Navy, he worked for the Hillsborough County Water Department for 30 years before retiring.
Jim was most known for his immeasurable love for and protection of his family.
The viewing and service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 10-11am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 West Bearss Ave., Tampa, followed by interment at L’Unione Italiana Cemetery, 2520 E. 24th Ave, Tampa.
There will also be a celebration of life immediately after interment at L’Unione Italiana (The Italian Club of Tampa), 1731 E. 7th Ave, Tampa, where food and beverages will be served.
