Mavis Solveig Andretta

Mavis Solveig Andretta November 3, 1942 ~ February 22, 2019 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mavis Solveig Andretta, 76, of Vernon, British Columbia. Mavis passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on February 22nd, 2019 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Mavis was born the fourth child of eight children to Otto and Mable Olstad on November 3rd, 1942 in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan. Mavis was raised, and raised her own children, in Vernon, British Columbia. Mavis was a profound and memorable woman. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, knew she was loving, assertive, hardworking, and true to her values. She loved to fish, camp, golf, paint, go to garage sales, and on bus tours. She was an amazing cook; most of all, she loved to garden. Mavis was a devoted wife and dedicated daughter, sister, mother, and grandma. Mavis was predeceased by her husband Valentino Andretta, her father Otto Olstad, her mother Mable Olstad, and her brother David Olstad. Mavis is survived by her two daughters Wendy Lee and Tracy Dawn; grandchildren Miranda, Shelli, and Nathan, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters Johanna Martin, Bernice Hoffman, Karen St. John, Sylvia Williams, Debra Olstad/Doner, and her brother Marvin Olstad. A funeral service will be held for Mavis on March 4th, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home in Vernon, British Columbia.
