Carroll C. Edge

Carroll C. Edge, 88, of Tivoli passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. “Mr. Edge”, as he was known to many, was born to the late Clyde and Minnie Edge on January 20, 1931 in Kendalia, TX. He was a member of Tivoli Baptist Church and was a teacher at Austwell-Tivoli ISD for 43 years, beginning in 1957. Mr. Edge graduated from Texas State Teachers College. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1951-1954. Throughout his adult life he served the Austwell-Tivoli community through Boy Scouts, Water Board, Lion’s Club, Sunday School teacher and beach clean-ups. He was the Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) Director at Aransas Wildlife Refuge. He enjoyed raising cattle, and also camping and growing oranges to share with his community. He loved people and he will be remembered and greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Judy Lynn Whitaker Edge; daughter, Holly Brown (Douglas); son, David Edge; grandson, Ethan Edge Brown; sister, Alleen Wagner and brother, Allan Edge (Andra Beth). Mr. Edge also shared his life with many nieces, nephews, friends and former students. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eldon, Ted and Lyle Edge; sister-in-laws, Shirley Edge, Ida Edge and brother-in-law, Warren Wagner. Funeral services are Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marcus Gohlke officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 8, 2019 at 1 PM at Edge Cemetery near Kendalia, Texas. Memorials may be made to Tivoli Baptist Church or Austwell-Tivoli Lions Club.
